When you have more than one AV source to only one TV, you can plug them into your TV. Common TVs these days can usually accept three AV and one S-video input unless you are talking about those with less than 20 inches screen.

The problem comes when you have an Astro box, a disc player, a PS3, an XBox and a Wii, not to mention a network media player all sharing one same TV. In that case, you will need a selector like the one below.

You can even cascade a few of them according to how many AV equipments you have.

But the drawback is that everytime you need to switch source, you’ll need to go up to the selector and physically push the switch on it/them.

Now meet the Auto AV Selector.

This is an automatic source selector accepting upto six AV sources and two S-videos. Depending on which source is active, it will automatically tune to that input. If more than one source is on, it will give priority according to a particular sequence, starting with AV source #1.

But you can override the auto selection by pressing the shift button, forcing it to cycle through the sources yourself.

It takes 2 AA batteries or external 3V DC power supply.

For the price of MYR 55.00, you won’t have to get up from your couch and walk up to switch inputs to you TV anymore. Ain’t that neat? ;)
