Received a video of someone throwing a black plastic bag off a balcony. There was a loud thud when the object hit the ground.
Fired up my newly purchased LumaFusion video editor from Samsung Store, I measured the time between the object leaving the balcony and when the loud thud was heard. It was around 5.13 seconds.
Using the formula h = 1/2 * g * (t^2) and v = g * t,
1. The height from which the object was released from the balcony is 423.36 feet or 129.04 meter.
2. The speed when the object hit the ground is 181.10 km/h or 112.54 miles/hr.
