Today is Merdeka Day in Malaysia, and it has been precisely one year since RPC ceased operations.
And GrabFood went crazy this morning.
Delivery charges were exorbitant. Was browsing GrabFood at around 7:50 am and noticed that delivery charges from a nearby restaurant was MYR 14.10!
Came back to the same restaurant 10 minutes later, after 8:00 am and it dropped to MYR 1.10!
Quickly placed an order for a latte and two packs of snacks, and ‘only pickup available’ popped out. Rats!
After browsing other restaurants, I came back to the same one. This time, I managed to place the same order for a delivery charges of MYR 1.10. Yay!
Almost immediately after the order was placed, I was informed that the restaurant had canceled one of the items. Price was lowered from MYR 20+ to MYR 19.91. Delivery charges remained at MYR 1.10. Oh well, as long as they don’t cancel my latte.
My order finally arrived at my doorstep. Order number was correct, but the remaining one pack of snack was missing, and they sent an Americano instead of my latte.
Contacted Grab and sent them photos of the wrong and missing order. They refunded MYR 18.81 to me immediately in GrabPay instead of MYR 19.91. Looks like they forgot to refund the MYR 1.10 delivery charges.
