A lot of people ask me, why I eat time not according to sequence one. I told them I only listen to my stomach what it tells me to eat.
Like sometimes my brunch will be fruit parfait with cappuccino, or even pouring hot Milo over my shaved ice (ABC or ais kacang), especially when having hangover.
So today another day when my stomach ask me to do weird things – I WANT TO SUCK… ICE!!!
Shop name very the unique – GZL. Full name GZL Sweet Hunter. As for what is GZL, it is 公仔佬, means Toy Master or something similar. Memang very ngam me as I have a lot of Gong Zhais.
Crawled into the shop first time. Last time also I got eat their food but always order via GrabFood. This time finally get to see who are the people behind the scene, who sometimes fxxxed up my order.
“What you want to order?” Asked the auntie.
Wah piang eh, “Your shop no menu one ar?” Although I already memorized their menu on GrabFood some 101 times liao. But I need to see what have been hidden from GrabFood mia menu.
Auntie then slammed the whole stack of menus on my table…
So I flip flip flip… Aha! Bubur cha cha! I miss their bubur cha cha… thick coconut milk, sago, chunky potatoes, and yam! It has disappeared from their GrabFood menu for several months.
“I want bubur cha cha!” I flagged the auntie over.
“Soli out of stock.”
Hello! No more cook then say no more cook la! Liquid-paper it out of your menu if you cannot afford permanent marker! Dun cheat me leh!
Nevermind, I big heart, forgive you this time. And I ordered the smaller version of their fruit shaved ice.
I wasn’t into complicated ABC like the best one near NuSentral at that moment. I just wanted to suck ice. Best is compacted ice doused in purple or pink syrup. They used to call them ice balls, or ‘bing kiu’ in Hockchiew dialect. 20 sen, bought outside school, and you suck the bejesus out of them down from the bottom. It was heaven.
Verdict:
Simple shaved ice with simple sugar syrup. Lychee, watermelon, honey dew, nata-de-coco and some grass jelly (cincao). Can squeeze lime juice if you prefer.
No milk, no rose syrup, no gula Melaka, no atapchee, no beans, no corns, etc.
Extremely refreshing for someone who has been dehydrated. It was like the morning dew drop even if it was already well passed 12 noon. I needed to rehydrate in order to lubricate… my brain…
I did order something else after I had fully awaken. But it will be in another post. You all slow slow wait. Coz I am now dehydrating again…
