Perforated Tympanic Membrane (part 2)

“It is like this,” she began talking slowly. “A few weeks ago, my voice wouldn’t go out. They were like, stuck on the right side of my face, particularly at my right jaw. And I thought they couldn’t hear me. So I talked louder.”

She paused, her gaze settling on me.

“Go on…” I spurred her on.

“No, you don’t believe me.” She turned and looked at her daughter-in-law (DIL) who seemed to look at her in disbelief.

“Say something while covering your right ear with your hand.” I told her DIL.

She (DIL) covered her right ear with her palm and mumbled something.

“Do you understand her now?” I asked the DIL.

DIL nodded.
